One great way to create motivation to practice on your guitar is to perform in front of other individuals in assorted ways. Are you easy playing in front of people and enjoy every minute of it? Naturally it does not have to be a formal event for you to perform.
A method to produce momentum to practise your guitar repertoire is to set up an informal concert with a couple of pieces in the setting of your own home. The fellow members of your own family could be the audience. There are many occasions when you can perform and play your music in the home and maybe you will also encourage others in your family or among your friends to play on their instruments in such a setting. Of course you have to plan ahead in order to suggest a presentation and in order to prepare yourself.
But if you don’t like to perform? Well you can really practice the art of performing on your guitar without individuals present and one way is to use your imagination and pretend that you perform in front of others. In such fake shows, you have to be true to yourself and play according to what you had planned from start to finish, and if you make a mistake, what should be your plan of action? What will take place is that you create self confidence in your power to handle mistakes and you will also find failings you can better upon in your guitar playing.
You could even tape your performance so that you can inspect it later for faults etc. You need not make this recording plan too complex – there are cell phones and mp3 players, which help you to do this with ease. The act of recording is like having a critic in the populace and listening to other artists recordings will also be of great benefit. You have to look to the sky in order to climb to a higher level in your guitar playing and this will be accomplished by listening to guitarists on a higher artistic level than yourself. You must exercise the same kind of passion, which you would display in a performance when you practice you guitar pieces, or learning songs. Along with your music, you must master the art of exhibiting your attitude, body language and stress level management. The feeling of joy and delight felt during your rehearse sessions would permeate to the member of the audience when you perform in front of them.
